i know that there were many white people who were proud of his accomplishments. it showed that ANY american can rise to the top. He made many people proud to be an american. There will always be haters and naysayers but what really hurt michael was how he was attacked by his own country's media, how every time he had to use makeup to cover his vitiligo (where patches of skin lose pigmentation) he was supposed to be "bleaching his skin",

This song reminds me of my all-time favorite American Idol contestant Jasmine Murray. She got eliminated at 13th place singing this song. I would not have chosen that song for her. The song I would have chosen for her was "Heal the World" by Michael Jackson.

Michael knew what he has contributed but he didn't believe that he did it alone. He felt that the fans contributed to his success, even though he worked so hard at what he did. Many of his fans will remember his willingness to give it his all even though he was breaking down. I think the only reasons he wouldn't perform in the US were fellow BLACK entertainers were jealous, and the media made him into a monster. He WAS proud to be black. DONT let anyone tell you otherwise.
