@WaxedLegs Don't condescend to tell me what his point was. I understood it, I just don't agree with it. There's a difference; that's why they're two different words. Hades existed a hell of a lot longer ago than Satan, BTW (pun very much intended). Look it up. The mere presence of gospel-style music doesn't immediately turn the entire film into a Christian allegory.

@DarkRider69 In your reply you made it sound as though you misunderstood. Don't patronize me for your mistake. You're missing the point. The whole story is very much related to religion and the bible in general. Take my original comment: Hades is made into an evil, Satanic entity in this simply because he happens to be lord of the dead (and death is one of the worst things possible in religion). Hera was more of the bad guy in the original myths, but of course not here. Here she's like Mary.

whether hercules is about religion or not is up to you but... the use of the gospel chorus is simply carrying out the greek tradition of having a chorus who would use song to explain events to the audience, this is also used in plays like little shop of horrors to name but one. All Disney have done is they have taken a greek concept and brought it up to modern day to make kids enjoy the film more

Despite people's beliefs, gospel/chapel choir music sounds epic and I think Disney appropriated that style wonderfully into the film. Besides, as far as i'm concerned, Hercules had some of the best music out of all the 90's disney era.
