@EternalSage07 The British army had killed 2-3 times more civilians compare to the IRA and as for the bombings in England, that wasn't aimed at killing civilians, out of the 10,000 + bombs that went off under the hands of the IRA, each one the IRA had given the British goverment the "time and place" a bomb would go off, there wouldn't even be an IRA if the British didn't treat the Irish population in the north as 2nd class people in their own country.

@irishcrawford1916 I totally concur with you there, but what I was driving at was the flaw in the way people think violence can be resolved with more violence. War will never ends in peace because it corrupts & manipulates people to their core; fills them with bloodlust. The U.S. isn't any better than the British--at least with regards to foreign policy. When we bully people into converting to our ways or we bomb the crap out of them (our way or the highway), or start wars on false premises.

So I guess I can somewhat empathize with the Irish in being a part of a country that I no longer recognize and have little to no say in how we're ruled. Our politics have become nothing more than war without blood in the way our leaders vie for party dominance, including turning the middle class with similar ambitions against one another (divide and conquer). And when it comes time to vote, I just feel it's a choice between evil or the greater evil; neither of which will help ordinary citizens.
