Please read them if you want to know some Beatles history. "I've Got a Feeling" "One After 909" Thursday - 30 January 1969 Apple Corps (Roof), London The Beatles' celebrated rooftop show. An idea conceived during a meeting on 26 January, it was the first of two consecutive Beatles/Billy Preston performances which concluded the Get Back project, for on 31 January they ran through numbers inside the basement studio. This day's work has passed into history as the Beatles' last live performance, even if it couldn't be classified as a concert. The 42-minute show (about half of which comprises the sensational close to the Let It Be film) was a lunchtime blast into the cold wind - imagine a high London rooftop in January - that brought part of the capital to a standstill, until the police, in turn, brought the show to an enforced conclusion. Much was commercially used from the 42 minutes on the roof, in the Let It Be film and on the Get Back (unissued) and Let It Be albums. What follows is a detailed description of the full rooftop repertoire, as preserved on EMI's eight-track tapes, with a guide to how it was made available.

I'm starting to think that after 32 years that Let it Be might be the best Beatle record!! who could have seened that coming

schmidtdeangallery @ Apr 23, 2011

Wow. 2:10 a guy is complaining about getting a free Beatles concert, being on TV and getting a day off work... blue meanie?

SuperSovietBear @ Apr 27, 2011

serious egos on that roof

aaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaaqaa @ Apr 27, 2011

I don't know why people complained about it? They're lucky that The Fab 4 didn't asked them to be on their knees.....'cause that's what they (and we) should do. I was born in 1993 and I envy those that listened to them live.

@28Turtles28ok there is one thing i dont get about the bealtes. Are there 2 base players or 2 guitar players Stu Sutcliffe was the bass player, Paul had to do it when Stu left, funny, bass playing ended up defining Paul who could do it all. George was lead mostly, but all but Ringo could play lead, bass, rhythm. Geoff Emerick's comments about "The End" on Abbey road blew me away.John asked to play lead, others laughed,he asked again,G said why not all of us,u can hear 3 styles of lead. see next

q12tube @ May 1, 2011

When all 3were going to do a dueling lead guitars, they went into the studio from the control, yoko got up,John told her to stay put, she was po'd. John knew this was a beatle thing and they were doing him a favor as it were here. You can hear 3 distinct styles, good guitarists can tell the diff betw the guitars and styles. I think they did it in 2 takes, absolutely fabulous. They had differences, but respect and love for one another. We focus on the negative. They all missed working together later.

The Beatles were/are modern prophets, and there are hidden messages and meanings in many of their songs. To learn how to perceive these hidden meanings, search "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then open The Present and read through the section about The Beatles.

vividDC @ May 13, 2011

Look at the boys! Hell yeah I've got a feelin! You're looking at the last live performance of a band who knows that they're the best damned band in the world. THE BEST DAMNED BAND IN THE WORLD! :)

MitchMansfield @ May 13, 2011

@MitchMansfield stoones were a better band at that point. Sorry, but Let it Bleed blows Let it be away.

45arther @ May 16, 2011

@45arther - I agree that Let it Bleed was a better LP than Let it Be, but the Beatles were always a step ahead (from a collective talent standpoint) than everyone else, including the Stones. The Beatles gave the Stones their first hit, "I Wanna be Your Man" in '64.
